History

LibreSprite originated as a fork of Aseprite, developed by David Capello. Aseprite used to be distributed under the GNU General Public License version 2, but was moved to a proprietary license on August 26th, 2016.

This fork was made on the last commit covered by the GPL version 2 license, and is now developed independently of Aseprite.

A downloadable project

Made a theme that was inspired by Blender 2.8s Timeline, and the minimal HD theme.

If you experience anything wonky feel free to comment and I'll try and work it out, this is my first theme for Aseprite.

  1. Download Zip file.
  2. Open Aseprite.
  3. Go to (Edit>Preferences) or press [CTRL+K]
  4. Click on the 'Extensions' tab
  5. Click 'Add Extension' and selected the Zip file.
  6. Go to the 'Theme' tab inside Preferences.
  7. Select Dark Mort HD, and click on the Select button below the Available Themes.
  8. Press OK :^)

I will update the Theme as I tweak it over time.

I tried changing the UI size, but now the entire thing is way too big. I tried to change it back, but it is so big that the 'apply' option in preferences is not showing up. Please help.

Is there any way to change the orange and blue colors? I'm not a fan of them

Thanks for this! Working perfectly for me on 64-bit Linux (Crostini on Chromebook).

Looks great, but I can't get it working on Linux for some reason.

Did you install it through the extensions tab inside Preferences?

I have no experience with Linux, so I have to be honest I can't give you much expertise here. :)

Yes, I read the instructions and did exactly that. Everything just flashes black for 0.5 of a second and changes back to normal. I set the zip file to read and write just Incase but that didn’t help. I don’t mind the default theme anyway so it’s no worry. Some people who use Aseprite might be starting to use Linux soon though since Win 7 lost support, but it’s probably a very small number of people who will happen to use Linux, use Aseprite and want a black theme.

Thanks for replying though!

My suggestion would be to try and tweet out at the Aseprite handle, they reply fast.
If anyone would know what the issue would be it should be them :D

Aseprite Palettes

It is possible to increase the height of the HUE and Transparency bars ???
That will be awesome :D

It has been changed now, so if you redownload the latest version it should be changed! :)

I changed it to be roughly 14px tall where before it was about 8px tall.
